1Problem

A product detail page has to show the description, photos and reasons to buy, in order, inside an 860px width.

Someone buying a sofa checks different things than someone buying probiotics, so one template for everything does not sell.

2Process

  1. 01We split the work into 12 industries: furniture, apparel, food, skincare, supplements, pet food, small appliances, baby tableware, fashion accessories, holiday gift sets, camping and cafe desserts.
  2. 02For each industry we made up one brand and one main product, then laid out the sections in the order customers ask their questions.
  3. 03We wrote the copy first, then designed, then built it in HTML instead of images, so the text can be changed right away.

3Result

  • 12Product detail pages, one per industry
  • 860pxStandard fixed width for online marketplaces

The brands and products were made up for these samples. There are no real sales numbers.
